In a small seaside town in eastern China, Li Hongju, a Maocao opera performer, and her daughter struggle with resilience to sustain their troupe while holding together the fragments of their family. Employing a neo-realist yet romantic style, the film gently unfolds the currents of everyday life, revealing a mother and daughter’ s quiet journey of redemption in a particular historical moment.
