住在仙台的高中生宫本大深受爵士乐吸引，每天都独自在河边吹奏次中音萨克斯风。毕业后他来到东京，住进了高中同学玉田俊二的公寓。某日，大在展演空间遇见同龄钢琴家泽边雪祈，并邀请他共组乐团，受大影响而开始打鼓的玉田也加入组成3人乐团“JASS”。连乐谱都看不懂，只是一心吹奏萨克斯风的宫本大、从小就将一切献给爵士乐的雪祈、以及初学者玉田，以在日本最好的爵士乐具乐部表演并改变日本爵士乐风格为目标，尽全力投入在音乐活动之中。

High school student Dai Miyamoto, who lives in Sendai, is deeply attracted to jazz. He plays the tenor saxophone alone by the river every day. After graduation, he comes to Tokyo and moves into the apartment of his high school classmate, Junichi Tamada. One day, Dai meets peer pianist Yukinori Sawabe in a performance space and invites him to form a band together. Tamada, who started playing drums under great influence, also joins, forming the three-piece band "JASS". The jazz club doesn't understand Dai, who is single-mindedly playing the saxophone, Sawabe, who has dedicated everything to jazz since childhood, and novice Tamada. With the goal of performing at Japan's best jazz club and changing the style of Japanese jazz, they devote themselves to musical activities with all their strength.
