On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong, an American aboard Apollo 11, successfully landed on the moon, taking a momentous step of great significance for humanity. Meanwhile, veteran astronaut Jim Lovell and his family and friends closely followed this historic moment on television. Jim had flown near the moon aboard Apollo 8, and he also hoped to fulfill his dream of landing on the moon in his lifetime. That moment came soon: just three months later, Jim was appointed commander of Apollo 13, and he would blast off again for the moon together with his crewmates Fred Haise and Jack Swigert. They were filled with hope, yet unaware of the countless hardships that lay ahead...
